In 1976, Davao Medical School Foundation Inc. (DMSFI) was inaugurated by a group of doctors, educators, and religious leaders at the island of Mediano. DMSFI is the first medical school in Mediano, established at the request of people residing in rural and urban areas. The organization is a non-profit and non-stock institution located in the centre of Davao City on a 2.5-hectare campus. The doctors are passionate about providing services to people in categories like health, science, and medicine. Training doctors and volunteer health workers is the main aim of DMSFI.
